Here is an unusual piece, a tabletop size wooden church font. This has been carved from blocks of oak and is a chunky item. The stepped base is of octagonal form, leading to a rectangular rise with shaped edges and then the top part is also of octagonal form with inward carved star and circle decorative features.

This item is in good antiques conditon withou chips or cracks. I think that the item would have contained a ceramic or metal bowl, but this is no longer present. This piece would look fabulous containing a floral arrangement on a side table, but it is a superb and rare decorative piece in its own right. The item measures about 8 inches (20 cm) in height.

The measurement across the underside of the base is about 5.6 inches (14.5 cm) and about the same across the top. The piece weighs 1115 g before packaging.
