Century c1880's German Gothic "Junghans" Oak Chiming Mantel Clock. This is an antique 19. Century c1880's German "Junghans" chiming mantel clock.

This is in full working order. It has a wonderful profusely carved German gothic oak body with a beautifully carved domed finial to the top. The rear right foot is missing, but the chiming bar nut is acting well as the fourth foot.

The oak has a dark brown coloured finish with a darker visible grain. The face is circular in shape with a white coloured metal chapter ring, black coloured numerals and black coloured hands. The face is protected by a flat glass door with a brass bezel.

The glass is in excellent condition with no scratches, cracks or chips. To the rear is the door to the mechanism chamber. The door is intact and also in excellent condition.

The Junghans markers mark can be seen to the centre of the mechanism. This chimes (on a coil) on the hour (chiming the numbers of hours) and on the half hour (once). This comes complete with its pendulum and key.
