This is a beautiful mantel. That was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of quarter sawn oak and is painted. The legs have boxed pilasters with great gothic carvings at the top with shelves above. A shelf between the pilasters is supported by 2 corbels.
Originally there was something, a mirror or piece of fretwork above the shelf but it is missing. It measures 60 inches wide, 64 inches tall and is 11.25 inches deep. The firebox opening is 41.5 wide by 42 tall.
Overall, it is in good condition. Scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Please look at the pictures carefully.
Please inquire with your zip code and I will get you a quote quickly. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch. My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition.
17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment.
