Huge Gothic Revival Antique Hand Cavred English Oak Library Bookcase Inc Drawers
Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this rather monumental, antique Gothic Revival, hand carved English oak open library bookcase with chest of drawer's base. This piece is a whopper, its 8'7 feet tall! Ideally suited for a Victorian town house with high ceilings or hallway with open top. Made in the Gothic Revival style, its very Pugin, the carving is expertly crafted and looks sublime from every angle. This piece is all original timber with no later additions or repairs, not bad for something 160-180 years old.
We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, it will have genuine age and use related patina marks here and there but it all adds to the charm and charisma of the piece.
