Victorian Gothic Arts Crafts Library Chair convert 2 Ladder Metamorphic Ca 1900

Up for consideration is a fine Arts & Crafts Gothic Oak Metamorphic Library Stepping stool Chair. It has a pierced Crest and Slat. It measures about 35.5 inches in height by 17.5 inches wide with a seat height of 17.5 inches.

There is a large iron hook that latches into an eyelet keeping the chair locked in place. When one unhooks the latch one can flip over the top turning into a stepping stool. There are great old brass inlaid hinges that hold everything just right. There is old rug that graces each step. At has nice trefoil cut outs along the crest and slat. It comes from a great old estate and was there for decades as it was used in the library. There is some minor paint drops as well some minor staining. It could stand a good oiling and or waxing.
